Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi reviewed efforts to develop the judicial system across the country, noting that this will contribute to upgrading the headquarters and buildings of the courts, and raise their efficiency using the latest technological techniques.

The president’s remarks came during his meeting on Tuesday with Minister of Justice Omar Marawan, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.

In this context, the president followed up on the progress of work in the Justice City in Cairo, which will contribute to facilitating the judicial procedures for the citizen and developing the philosophy of work in the judicial system through digitisation and updated technical tools.

The president also reviewed the efforts to develop the notary public system, especially the continuous updating of the unit for issuing documents remotely at the Ministry of Justice, which has become capable of issuing official general powers of attorney for various cases remotely, in addition to providing a large number of other services such as certificates of primary, misdemeanor and economic courts.

The meeting also discussed efforts to develop the work of the committee for the disposal of abandoned and neglected vehicles, in a manner that ensures the best possible use of them.

In this regard, the president directed the continuation of work to establish modern centres for depositing seized vehicles, and to automate the work of those centres in a manner that is consistent with the law and ensures the protection of vehicles and achieves the goal of benefiting from them.

The president also directed the continuation of efforts to develop the judicial system, and to adhere to the set deadlines for the completion of the Justice City, to ensure a tangible qualitative improvement in the Egyptian judicial system.

He also praised efforts to issue documents remotely, and directed the expansion of this facility in Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad, stressing that the main goal is to facilitate the daily dealings of the citizen with the judicial system, which contributes to protecting the rights of citizens and preserving their interests.
