Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the October 6, 1973 War will remain an inspiring story, noting that the victory achieved was thanks to the will of an entire people who rejected defeat and challenged tough conditions.
Sisi made the remarks during a ceremony held by the union of Arab tribes and Egyptian families on Saturday on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the October 6 War victory. The ceremony was held in the New Administrative Capital.
The conditions Egypt is currently going through are similar to those that the country experienced after the 1967 war, Sisi said, emphasizing that Egypt overcame the ordeal through the will of its people.
Commenting on the October 6, 1973 War victory, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the will of the Egyptian people, their rejection of the status quo, and their insistence on victory were the reason for making the achievement.
Sisi pointed out to the amount of sacrifices made by Egyptians in war and peace, led by late president Mohamed Anwar El Sadat, who “accomplished a mission that was ahead of its time”.
Meanwhile, the president expressed thanks to organizers of today’s ceremony.
