Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Sunday called a meeting to follow up on the executive position of the comprehensive development efforts in the North Sinai Governorate.
Attending the meeting were Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Defence and Military Production Minister General Mohamed Zaki, Head of the General Intelligence Service Major General Abbas Kamel, Minister of the Interior Major General Mahmoud Tawfik and North Sinai Governor Major General Mohamed Abdel Fadil Shosha.
In directives he gave during the meeting, President Sisi called for formulating an advanced and integrated development path for these efforts, Presidency Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.
The aspired path, the president emphasised, should be consistent with the prime importance and specificity of the unique status of the Sinai, and should also be in harmony with the state’s parallel efforts to spread development across the land of Egypt, Spokesman Fahmy said.
President Sisi also called for close collaboration between all Cabinet ministries and state departments in this process, the spokesman said.
During the meeting, President Sisi was briefed on the huge efforts exerted and measures taken over the past years to restore security and stability there, thereby paving the way for pursuing the state’s developmental vision and implementing several mega national projects to provide decent life and good standard of living for Sinai inhabitants, Spokesman Fahmy said.
