Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi congratulated the country’s civil aviation sector after national carrier EgyptAir was named the world’s “most improved airline” for 2026 by global aviation rating agency Skytrax.
In a statement posted on social media, Sisi said the award had helped EgyptAir rise to 46th place globally and enter the list of the world’s top 50 airlines.
He also praised the carrier for receiving several other international awards and distinctions.
The recognition “confirms the ability of Egyptians to compete and excel,” Sisi said, adding that it reflected the government’s continued efforts to improve the sector’s efficiency and raise service standards.
The award also strengthened EgyptAir’s position as a national carrier representing Egypt internationally, he said.
“My heartfelt congratulations to you. I am proud of what has been achieved in the name of Egypt,” Sisi added.
