Cairo – Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Transport Lieutenant-General Kamel El-Wazir, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Major General Ihab El-Far, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority Major General Ahmed El-Shazly, Director General of the National Service Projects Organization (NSPO) of the Armed Forces Major General Walid Abul-Magd, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Company for Desert Lands Major General Tawfiq Sami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Company for Construction Major General Karam Salem, and Director of the “Future of Egypt” project Lt. Col. Pilot Bahaa El-Din El-Ghannam.
The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that during the meeting on Saturday the President followed-up on developments pertinent to the status of a number of national projects for agricultural production and land reclamation, especially in Toshka, in south of the valley, and New Delta in El-Dabaa, in addition to the governorates of Beni Suef and Minya.
The President was briefed on the details of the current and future phases of the projects, including the infrastructure and logistics, provision of water rations, application of the most appropriate modern irrigation methods, and electrical power supplies, within the framework of the state’s strategy aimed at increasing agricultural land nationwide so as to help develop the agricultural production sector as well as related food and agricultural industries. This shall contribute to achieving self-sufficiency in strategic crops and opening export opportunities, which would enhance the role of the agricultural sector in supporting the national economy and providing thousands of job opportunities for citizens in various specialties.
