Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA),Admiral Osama Rabie, on Sunday, received a delegation of diplomatic attachés from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The visit is part of the ninth training course organised by the Military Academy in co-operation with the ministry, with the aim of familiarising junior diplomats with the latest developments and achievements of the canal.
The delegation toured the Maritime Training and Simulation Academy in Ismailia.
The program highlighted the strategic importance of the canal in global trade and its role in supporting Egypt’s economy.
In remarks, Rabie lauded the efforts of Egyptian diplomacy in fostering international relations and presenting an accurate image of the country’s progress.
He also stressed that the Suez Canal remains a vital artery for world trade and a cornerstone of Egypt’s development.
The SCA is advancing a comprehensive development plan under “Leadership Strategy 2030,” which includes upgrading the waterway, modernizing the fleet, and expanding services to maintain the canal’s global standing, Rabie explained.
The delegation were offered presentations on the water ways’ history, the New Suez Canal project, and the southern sector development. They also took a boat tour to witness operations firsthand and visited the Suez Canal Museum. Rabie urged the attachés to carry Egypt’s achievements with pride in their future diplomatic missions.
