Naval forces of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Djibouti, Sudan and Yemen started on Tuesday joint training exercise code-named “Red Wave-5” in the territorial waters of Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea and would continue for several days.
The preparatory phase of the drill includes holding several conferences and lectures to achieve understanding between the participating forces.
The training also includes the implementation of several activities, including the planning and management of joint naval combat to hone skills and exchange expertise between the participating forces.
In a related context, the joint Egyptian-Saudi air training activities (Faisal-12) were launched with the participation of formations from the Egyptian Air Force and the Royal Saudi Air Force. The training will continue for several days in Saudi Arabia.
These exercises come as part of efforts to enhance the distinguished relations, strengthen military co-operation and exchange experiences between the Egyptian armed forces and friendly countries and to learn about new fighting methods and to reach the highest levels of efficiency and combat readiness to carry out joint missions under various circumstances.
