AIN SOKHNA – President of the Egyptian Mineral Resources Authority (EMRA) Yaser Ramadan said the inauguration of the quartz production complex is the best example for optimising the use of mineral wealth.
He made his remarks on Thursday at the inauguration ceremony of the complex in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The complex reflects the good application of the state’s wise political vision to increase the economic value of mineral wealth.
Ramadan noted that the EMRA has formed a group to study promising areas in the central and northern parts of the Eastern Desert and re-explore mineral wealth there.
Ramadan reiterated that the Ministry of Petroleum has been tasked with maximizing the added value of mineral wealth, particular quartz, under Sisi’s directives to carry out the Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS): Egypt Vision 2030.
Alamein company for silicon products has been established in partnership between the petroleum sector and the private and public enterprise sector with a view to establishing an industrial complex for silicon production in the industrial zone in New Alamein city at a $700-million investment cost.
The complex will be provided with electricity generated from clean and renewable energy to contribute to cutting bad emissions affecting the environment under Sisi’s directives, Ramadan added.
