Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity Niven el Qabbag launched on Thursday Herafy or “Craftsman” Program in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt and several Egyptian banks in support of crafts makers.
Qabbage said the program targets members of cooperatives, productive families, and small entrepreneurs as the initiative help them start their own business.
She said the initiative also helps upgrade crafts sector and improve quality of products.
The minister stressed that the ministry’s plan during 2024 is based on three pillars; expanding economic projects for irregular workers, expanding health and life insurance for youth and women and reviving craft industries.
Mervat Sabrin, assistant to the minister, said the first phase of the program aims to train 1,000 small entrepreneurs during 2024 in different crafts fields.
The program includes training on ways of benefiting from the central bank’s initiatives, best ways to price products and insurance privileges offered to workers’ families in case of risk.
