Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi affirmed that the October War victory will always remain immortal in the conscience of Egyptians and Arabs.

This day was designed to be eternal not only in the Egyptian people’s conscience, but also in the conscience of the entire Arab nation and the peace-loving peoples of the world, added the president while addressing the 36th Cultural Symposium of the Armed Forces to mark the 49th anniversary of the October War victory on Tuesday.

President Sisi also said that Egypt did not only fight to defend its land, but also to achieve peace and maintain gains.

President Sisi further said that in the glorious October war, there were men, whom God Almighty guided to take decisive decisions that changed the map of regional and international balances.

President Sisi, meanwhile, paid tribute to the Armed Forces and the late president Anwar el Sadat, the hero of war and peace, who courageously made the decision of peace, which turned the page on the past and opened up prospects of the future for the entire region.

Addressing the 36th Cultural Symposium of the Armed Forces to mark the 49th anniversary of the October War victory on Tuesday, Sisi said “Egypt celebrates today the 49th anniversary of the glorious October victory, a day of pride and dignity, a day that witnessed a proof on the ability of the Egyptian and his supremacy in overcoming the toughest moments of the nation’s history.”

Sisi reiterated that Egypt achieved “the crossing miracle” on the 6th of October to remain an immortal day in the consciousness of Egypt and its people, the whole Arab nation as well as all peace-loving nations.

He said Egypt fought not only in defense of its lands, but for the sake of peace, praising the fateful decisions taken by October men who changed the map of regional and international balances.

Sisi saluted the late Egyptian president Mohamed Anwar El Sadat and said “I salute late president Mohamed Anwar El Sadat for taking the great decision of crossing despite the ghost of defeat that has been chasing us all. He also took a courageous decision of making peace that open the future horizons for the whole region”.

He also greeted whoever contributed to making the most glorious days of Egypt’s modern history. Sisi also saluted the Egyptian Armed Forces and said he is honored to belong to it.

President Sisi paid tribute to the Armed Forces, expressing his pride in being one of its members.

Sisi noted that the core of the October War was the struggle for changing the reality from defeat to victory and from pain to glory and pride.

He pointed out to the global economic crisis that the world faces, warning that the powers of evil are still spreading their rumors and delusions to make the citizens lose their confidence.
