Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Friday received a phone call from French President Emmanuel Macron.
Presidential Spokesman Counsellor Ahmed Fahmy said that the French leader was keen to congratulate President Sisi on his re-election as President of Egypt for a new term.
Macron stressed France’s continuation of boosting cooperation with Egypt, citing the depth of relations between the two countries in all fields.
Fahmy said the talks also touched on the regional situations, as Macron listened to the vision of President Sisi on the need to stop military operations in Gaza to protect civilians and let in humanitarian aid to meet urgent needs of Palestinians.
“The two leaders agreed to intensify joint efforts and stressed the importance of avoiding conflict expansion in the region, Fahmy said, citing the importance of regional stability.
“The two presidents also agreed on the need to work hard internationally to advance efforts to settle the Palestinian cause in a fair and sustainable way through the enforcement of a two-state solution.
