CAIRO – Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi said preparations are underway for the coming edition of the Nostos: Reviving Roots Presidential Initiative which serves three states, namely Egypt, Greece and Cyprus.
This came during a meeting with Greek Ambassador to Egypt Nikolaos Papageorgiou to review means of enhancing bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, Gendi underlined the depth of bilateral ties in various domains, especially in the political, economic and cultural fields.
She voiced appreciation of the stands adopted by Greece towards Egypt.
The ambassador lauded the role played by Egypt in confronting illegal immigration, noting that preparations are going on for the new Greek emigration minister to visit Egypt soon.
He reviewed developments concerning the seasonal workers agreement, thanking the Egyptian Emigration Ministry for its intervention to accelerate putting the deal into effect.
