The Egyptian premier reviewed on Monday plans for a central business district at the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli looked at plans for the management and operation of the Central Business District (CBD) at the NAC.

Representatives of one of the major Chinese companies currently operating in the NAC submitted the proposals during a meeting and briefed the prime minister on details.

Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el-Gazzar also attended the meeting on the project, which Madbouli said would be the first of its kind in Egypt.

“It would be a milestone in the development and urban renaissance that Egypt is witnessing,” Madbouli said, adding that the project would attract huge investment.

“We are now in negotiations for a management plan for the CBD in line with the latest global systems and as per an ambitious marketing plan.

The step came in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives regarding the importance of committing to the deadline for NAC development projects.

The CBD management and operation plan is based on attracting major companies to invest in this project, el-Gazzar said.

The CBD is the commercial artery of the new capital, which adopts smart and sustainable city principles. Its architectural and urban design provides convenience and comfort to businessmen and investors, and offers all kinds of services such as shops, shopping malls, administrative buildings, residential and hotel services, international and luxury restaurants and entertainment area, as well as theatres and entertainment buildings.
