CAIRO – Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli asserted the importance of going ahead with implementing the development plan of Al Warraq Island.
The plan calls for developing this promising area and making use of its unique and distinguished geographical location to improve quality of life and carry out development projects, he added during a meeting, held to review the executive situation of the development plan of the Island Monday.
Minister of Awqaf Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa and Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem el-Gazar were present.
Gazar presented during the meeting a report on the current situation regarding the implementation of the development plan of Al Warraq Island, which covers mechanisms for distributing ownership of lands in the Island.
The minister pointed out that 888.65 feddans are now owned by the New Urban Communities Authority.
The upgrade plan urges the establishment of 94 housing towers, including 4,092 residential units, schools, clinics, youth centres and malls, according to him.
