CAIRO – Egyptian Planning and Economic Development Minister Hala el-Said stressed the importance of promoting coordination and co-operation among all ministries concerned to arrange for the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Climate Change Convention (UNFCCC).
Said underscored the necessity of making use of the event to highlight achievements made by the Egyptian state over the past years.
She added during a meeting with Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad on Monday that the ministry carried out green projects in the investment plan with nearly 40 per cent of total ventures included in the plan.
The percentage is expected to increase in the coming Fiscal Year, according to her.
The meeting was allocated to discuss all arrangements for COP27, which will be hosted by Egypt in November in Sharm el-Sheikh.
In turn, Fouad commended constructive co-operation with the planning ministry in several files, including ways to merge environmental sustainability and climate change issues with local and national planning and different economic policies along with stimulating the private sector toward green transition.
