PARIS – Egyptian Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Hala el-Saeed discussed Sunday with Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, (OECD) Mathias Cormann ways to enhance development and bilateral cooperation.
The Egyptian minister is on a visit to France to participate in the launch of the “OECD” economic report on Egypt at the organization’s headquarters in Paris, which comes in light of Egypt-OECD Country Program that was signed in 2022 and launched in Cairo in 2023, in the presence of Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Egypt’s ambassador to France.
El Saeed expressed Egypt’s appreciation of cooperation relations with the OECD, praising the organisation’s support to the Egyptian side to further press ahead with its economic reform program, as well as strengthening public policies.
For his part, the OECD secretary general praised continued co-operation between Egypt and the OECD.
Cormann said the organisation is looking forward to having Egypt join the Inclusive Forum on Carbon Mitigation Approaches (IFCMA), in light of the great interest Egypt attaches to supporting green economy, especially that the forum seeks to help countries reduce their emissions and facilitate their access to exchanging information.
