Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el-Molla said on Tuesday that the Egyptian mining sector invited tenders for exploring precious and basic minerals as well as phosphate, Sulphur and potassium in the 1st quarter of 2023.

The minister’s statements came while addressing the second edition of Egypt Mining Forum 2023 in the presence of Saudi Minster of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim AlKhorayef, Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir and Djibouti’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yonis Ali Guedi.

He said the Egyptian state started the stage of making use of its mineral wealth in light of the political stability and economic reforms.

The second edition of the Egypt Mining Forum is Egypt’s premier mining, minerals and commodities event taking place from 18-19 July 2023 in The Nile Ritz-Carlton, Cairo, said the Ministry of Petroleum on its website.

The Forum is hosted by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and will bring together key regional stakeholders, international mining companies, and investors who are looking to do business in Egypt and North Africa.

The Forum will shed light on Egypt’s financing roadmap and how foreign investment and partnerships will be key drivers to unlocking value within the mining sector.

Over 40 speakers will discuss these topics and more, providing the most significant meeting of regional and global stakeholders including mining majors and juniors, investors and government project owners from Africa and North Africa.
