Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, has appointed Sahar Nasr, former Minister of Investment and International Co-operation, as Secretary-General of the Egyptian Zakat and Charity House.
Since 2022, as Executive Director, Nasr has significantly improved the organisation’s efficiency in aiding vulnerable communities.
Her leadership has driven key initiatives, including financial and medical assistance, crisis relief, and the internationally recognised “Help Gaza” programme, which garnered support from 85 countries.
Established in 2014, the Zakat House manages charitable funds according to Sharia, fostering social solidarity and supporting those in need.
