Chairman of the State Council Counselor Mohamed Mahmoud Hossam El-Din, and Counselor Mohamed El-Hafi, President of the Libyan Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) signed a memorandum of understanding on judicial co-operation.
The two parties agreed during their meeting on Wednesday at the headquarters of the State Council in Cairo that the Egyptian State Council will provide advice and technical assistance to the judicial bodies affiliated to the SJC through courses to develop the skills of members of judicial bodies and raise their efficiency in their fields.
Both sides agreed to exchange publications related to the common jurisdiction, including fatwas, rulings, studies, periodicals, bulletins and journals related to each of them.
The two sides also agreed to forge a means to make use of the list of references in the Egyptian State Council library and its electronic platform.
Hossam El-Din spoke of the depth of Egyptian- Libyan relations and the readiness of the State Council to provide all technical assistance needed by the Libya side.
For his part, Al-Hafi lauded the pioneering role of the State Council in the field of administrative judiciary, legal advisory opinions and drafting legislation in the Arab world.
Al-Hafi welcomed the MoU as consolidation of ties between the two countries.
Libyan ambassador to Cairo Mohamed Mohamed Baad Al-Aali Mesbah, who attended the signing ceremony, referred to the importance of the MoU to develop the judiciary in Libya.
