The Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development (Mostakbal Misr) and the Egyptian House of Zakat and Charity have launched the third phase of the “To School” initiative, distributing school supplies to tens of thousands of students from underprivileged families for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The initiative aims to ease the financial burden of education on families in need, in line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
In co-operation with the ministries of interior and education and technical education, as well as Al-Azhar institutes, the initiative will distribute 1 million school bags, stationery, jackets and shoes to primary, preparatory and secondary school students in 15 governorates.
It will also provide food vouchers to the neediest families.
Mostakbal Misr has made basic commodities available at discounted prices through its fixed “Super Tawfeer” outlets and mobile vehicles accompanying the Egyptian House of Zakat and Charity’s caravans, allowing beneficiaries to purchase essential goods in their residential areas.
The first phase was launched in North Sinai, where school supplies were distributed to thousands of students in villages and Bedouin communities to ease the financial burden on their families.
The second phase expanded support to remote villages in Upper Egypt and other governorates, in co-ordination with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Interior’s Aman system and Al-Azhar institutes.
The fourth and final phase will cover Cairo and South Sinai.
