Egypt’s Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir asserted the government keenness on luring international companies to localize the vehicles industry and its feeder industries in Egypt especially General Motors Company which has a vast expertise in the Egyptian market.
The minister’s remarks were made during his meeting with a delegation of General Motors Egypt under Managing Director Sharon Nishi to review the company’s projects in Egypt and its future vision to increase its investments in the Egyptian market.
Samir pointed out to the government’s efforts to provide a luring climate for increasing investments of the vehicles industry, noting that the ministry has been continuously contacting all state bodies along with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and other ministries to ease measures for foreign investors.
He added that the Egyptian economy has vast potentials that could help in localizing the vehicles industry to meet the needs of the Egyptian market as well as Africa.
Meanwhile, GM Egypt Managing Director asserted the company’s keenness on expansion in the Egyptian market as it is one of the key markets in the Middle East region, adding that GM is looking forward to benefit from the privileges available to enhance the vehicles industry in accordance with the state’s strategies in this regard.
