The Minister of State for Military Production, Salah Suleiman Gomblat, has stressed the importance of increasing production, maintaining the highest quality and industrial safety standards, and responding to market developments while balancing product quality and cost.
The minister made these remarks during an inspection visit to Helwan Company for Metallic Appliance (Military Factory 360), aimed at monitoring operations, reviewing production developments and ensuring improved performance across the ministry’s affiliated companies and units.
During the tour, the minister inspected several production facilities, including the water heater assembly line, packaging and inspection workshops, sheet metal cutting operations, and the manufacture of copper coils used in water heaters.
He reviewed the use of computer numerical control (CNC) machines, which support efficient, precise manufacturing and improve product quality.
The minister explained that military production companies are utilising surplus production capacity to meet domestic market demand and serve the civilian sector.
He emphasised the importance of deepening local manufacturing to reduce dependence on imports and lower the import bill.
He also highlighted the need to strengthen cooperation with the private sector, in line with presidential directives, to localise advanced manufacturing technologies, exchange technical and technological expertise, increase local content and enhance the competitiveness of Egyptian products.
He added that higher production rates, competitive pricing and consistent quality are essential to meeting consumer needs, boosting sales and maximising the use of available industrial capabilities.
At the conclusion of the visit, the minister met with the company’s workforce, listened to their views and suggestions, and acknowledged their vital contribution to operational efficiency and production targets.
He called for concerted efforts to improve performance and productivity, stressing that strict compliance with quality, industrial safety and occupational health standards is essential to protecting employees and sustaining production.
