Egyptian Company for Metro Management and Operation (ECM) said that the movement of the subway temporarily stopped at Helwan station in the first metro line when a sudden malfunction occurred.
In a statement on Wednesday, the company said that emergency teams immediately went to the place of the malfunction, adding that work is underway to get the subway movement back to normal in both directions.
The company apologized to the passengers using (Helwan-New Marg) underground line for the sudden malfunction.
