President of Tanta University Dr Mahmoud Zaki opened the newly refurbished wind of the university’s teaching hospital.
The 76-bed facility cost LE12 million and includes 30 medium care rooms and 15 intensive care beds.
Digitising hospitals in Tanta is top priority as well as increasing their capacity, and giving top-quality services in the Delta region, Dr Zaki said.
Also top of the list of priorities is the first smart university hospital in Mahalla al-Kubra, which unit will cost more than LE1 billion pounds, Dr Zaki added.
Dr Ahmed Ghoneim, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Tanta University said university hospital development means services of the highest quality.
The waiting lists for cardiac and catheter patients were cleared for the second time running within six months, Dr Ghoneim said.
