Veteran lawyer Farid el Deeb passed away on Tuesday at the age of 79 after a long battle with illness.
El Deeb, who was born in 1943 in Cairo, graduated from the Faculty of Law in 1963.
El Deeb landed a job as a lawyer since 1971, after leaving the judiciary career.
In a long career in the judiciary, El Deeb occupied several positions, including undersecretary of the Public Prosecution Office in South Cairo and then an undersecretary of the Prosecution in el Waeili district and then in Sohag Prosecution.
He had carved a career for himself in defending senior state officials. El Deeb also defended former president Hosni Mubarak and his family along with former interior minister Habib el Adli.
