Egyptian Minister of Water Resources stressed that the ministry is working around the clock to remove encroachments on Nile River in order to protect the Nile and ensure good management of water mechanism.
He made the remarks on Thursday during a meeting with the ministry’s undersecretary Ragab Abdel Azim, irrigation authority chairman Sayyed Shalabi, wastewater authority chairman Mohamed Saleh, and other senior officials.
He said the ministry is determined to strictly confront any encroachments on the Nile.
He reviewed the directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisis in this respect, noting that all needed legal measures will be taken to ensure securing all water needs for all purposes.
The ministry’s bodies are ready for a launching a large-scale campaign against encroachments, he said, noting that the ministry is on alert in preparation for the rain season.
