CAIRO – All inmates of correctional and rehabilitation centres across Egypt will be granted an exceptional family visit on the occasion of March celebrations of women.
The gesture reflects keenness of the Interior Ministry to provide support and care for inmates by allowing them to meet their relatives on different occasions.
The exceptional visits will be made on Saturday, March 9 till Thursday, March 21 and won’t be counted as one of the scheduled encounters, the Ministry said in a statement.
The move comes as part of efforts by the Interior Ministry to promote the values of human rights and apply a modern punishment approach, the statement added.
