Egyptian Housing Minister Assem El Gazzar said on Tuesday Egypt does not suffer from an electricity shortage, but rather has a surplus thanks to its efforts in this sector.
Gazzar’s remarks came during his meeting with heads of new cities and their deputies to follow up on the development rates and the quality of services provided there.
Gazzar pointed out to the importance of development, housing, and service projects in the new cities, noting they have offered a large number of direct and indirect jobs.
The minister directed the attendees to rationalise electricity and water in the new cities.
