CAIRO — House of Representatives Speaker Hisham Badawy congratulated the national football team and the Egyptian people on the well-deserved victory achieved on Monday over New Zealand in the opening stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Badawy, in a post on his official X account, extended sincere appreciation and congratulations to Egypt’s national team, as well as its technical and administrative staff, for what he described as a heroic performance that resulted in a deserved victory at the start of the World Cup campaign.
He said the win brings renewed hope and demonstrates that the nation’s sons possess unwavering determination and resolve.
Badawi congratulated the Egyptian people and expressed hope that the victory would mark a bright beginning for the national team’s World Cup journey.
“I congratulate the great people of Egypt and pray to Allah Almighty that this victory will be a bright start and that our national team’s efforts will be crowned with success and achievement,” he added.
