Raphael de Lagarde, Chargé d’Affaires of the French embassy in Cairo, has extended his country’s thanks to Egypt over great cooperation to ease the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
He told MENA on Saturday that France has sent some 1,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza so far in cooperation with Egypt, citing the establishment of the French field hospital in the Egyptian city of Arish to treat wounded Palestinians since Nov. 25.
The diplomat pointed out that such aid has been sent by air and sea to Arish to be delivered to Gazans.
France is set to send another ship carrying aid in the coming hours to Port Said’s port.
He praised strong ties between France and Egypt, highlighting close coordination and fruitful communications between President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his French counterpart to discuss different international and regional issues of common interest.
