Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty commended tangible development in bilateral relations between Egypt and Turkey in different fields.
He hailed the increase in high-level bilateral visits that aim to promote joint cooperation.
Egypt and Turkey are marking the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The foreign minister’s remarks came at a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) in Jeddah.
The session offered an important opportunity for addressing the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the attempts to displace them from their land. It was convened at the request of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf said the two ministers discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.
The foreign minister outlined the outputs of the extraordinary Arab summit, hosted by Cairo.
Abdelatty posted his Turkish counterpart on the Arab plan for the early recovery operation and reconstruction in the Gaza Strip in parallel with Egypt’s efforts to hold the ceasefire agreement in the strip and implement its three phases.
For his part, the Turkish foreign minister praised the outputs of the Arab summit, particularly the Egyptian reconstruction plan.
