Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty condemned Israel’s starvation policy against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

He reiterated Egypt’s categorical rejection of the forced displacement of Palestinians from their lands, the expansion of Israeli military operations in Gaza, and the ongoing genocide crimes against the Palestinian people.

He made the remarks during his reception of the Vice President of the State of Palestine and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Hussein al Sheikh.

Majdi al Khalidi, Palestinian President’s Adviser for Diplomatic Affairs, attended the meeting, which was part of regular contacts between Egypt and the Palestinian Authority to discuss the developments of the Palestinian cause.

The conferees showed almost identical stands on the necessity of intensifying regional and international pressure on Israel to stop the brutal war on Gaza and accept the ceasefire proposal put forward by Egypt and Qatar, which is based on the proposal of US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.

The meeting also addressed developments in the West Bank, where Abdelatty condemned Israeli illegal practices in the West Bank, especially the unlawful settlement plans.

The foreign minister stressed complete rejection of land confiscation and the intimidation campaigns carried out by Israeli settlers against the Palestinian people.

He expressed Egypt’s firm condemnation of the Israeli settlement plan in the E1 area of the West Bank.

The two sides extensively discussed Egyptian-Palestinian coordination regarding mobilizing international support for expanding recognition of the Palestinian state during the international conference on the implementation of the two-state solution, due to be hosted by New York on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meetings this month.

Abdelatty praised the intention of several countries to recognize the Palestinian state, reiterating Egypt’s commitment to continuing to support the Palestinian people’s struggle to establish their inalienable rights, topped by their right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital.
