Egypt’s First Lady Entissar El-Sisi expressed her appreciation for the volunteers of the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), praising their humanitarian efforts in support of the people of Gaza.
In a post on her official Facebook page on Wednesday, she said she was pleased to meet with volunteers from the organization and witness the milestone arrival of one million tonnes of humanitarian aid that had been delivered to the Gaza Strip through Egypt.
“I was delighted to meet my sons and daughters from the ERC and to witness with them the moment when humanitarian assistance sent to Gaza through Egypt reached one million tonnes,” she wrote.
She also expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the relief effort, saying: “My sincere appreciation goes to every helping hand and every genuine effort dedicated to serving humanity.”
The ERC has played a central role in coordinating and facilitating humanitarian assistance destined for Gaza through Egyptian territory.
