Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Raafat Hindi, and leaders of Ernst & Young (EY) Middle East and North Africa on Thursday discussed the company’s expansion plans in Egypt, including the establishment of a regional center for IT outsourcing and consulting services.
The meeting, attended by senior officials from EY and Egypt’s IT Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), followed the signing of a memorandum of understanding to support EY’s operations in Egypt, develop local talent, and boost exports of digital and consulting services.
The expansion is expected to create more than 1,000 specialised jobs over the next three years in advanced consulting and technology fields, including cybersecurity, digital engineering, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and business transformation strategies.
Th move reflects Egypt’s attractiveness for global investment in cross-border technology services and confirms the competitiveness of Egypt’s outsourcing sector, Minister Hindi said.
He emphasised the government’s confidence in Egyptian talent to deliver high-quality services to regional markets.
EY officials highlighted Egypt’s strategic advantages, including skilled youth, advanced digital infrastructure, and geographic positioning. They expressed long-term commitment to the Egyptian market, with plans to transfer knowledge, train local talent, and support major digital transformation projects across the region.
