Egypt’s Grand Mufti Shawki Allam headed on Tuesday to Saudi Arabia to take part in the proceedings of the forum on joint values among the followers of religions.
Riyadh, for the first time, will host the forum, which will be held under the umbrella of the Muslim World League, on Wednesday.
Allam is scheduled to deliver the inaugural speech at the forum, which aims to promote tolerance and acceptance of ethnic, cultural and religious diversity.
The forum also aims to discuss ways of promoting all forms of violence and terrorism.
Several religious leaders will also deliver speeches during the forum. A presentation on the role of the religious leaders in promoting peace values will also be held.
