CAIRO – Egypt’s Foreign Minister, and president designate for the upcoming UN climate conference, COP27, Sameh Shoukry held Sunday a meeting with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) acting executive secretary, Ibrahim Thiaw, ahead of their participation in the Petersberg Climate Dialogue in Berlin.
During the meeting, Shoukry extended his greetings to Thiaw on assuming the post, expressing his desire for more coordination and cooperation between them ahead of COP27, slated to be held in the Egyptian Red Sea resort city of Sharm el Sheikh in November.
They reviewed ongoing preparations for COP27 and coordination to ensure a broad, high-level participation by all countries.
