CAIRO – Lawmaker Solaf Darwish was elected as the new chairman of the women affairs committee at the Arab Labor Organization (ALO).
The election took place during the committee’s meeting at a Cairo hotel with the participation of a number of Arab female leaderships.
In press statements, Darwish said her election testifies to the great appreciation paid by the Egyptian political leadership to Egyptian women that now assume many leading positions.
She added that she will work out a plan featuring the challenges facing Arab women in most countries like terrorism, coronavirus pandemic and occupation with a special focus on problems Palestinian women are subjected to by Israeli occupation.
