Remittances from Egyptians working abroad continued their strong upward trajectory during the 2025/2026 fiscal year, demonstrating sustained growth in foreign currency inflows.
The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) announced on Thursday that remittances rose by 31.2 per cent during the first eleven months of the fiscal year, from July 2025 to May 2026, reaching approximately $43.1 billion, compared with around $32.8 billion recorded during the corresponding period of the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
On a monthly basis, remittances increased by 13.5 per cent in May 2026, reaching approximately $3.9 billion, up from around $3.4 billion in May 2025.
The continued growth in remittance inflows reveals the positive performance recorded throughout the fiscal year and highlights the important contribution of Egyptians working abroad to supporting foreign currency resources and the national economy.
