CAIRO – The Egyptian Commercial Office in Paris organised on Sunday a virtual seminar on the agricultural sector and agricultural products in Egypt.
The seminar was organised in co-operation with the Arab-French Chamber of Commerce, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Global Diwan foundation.
In a statement, the Trade and Industry Ministry said French Ambassador in Cairo Marc Baréty opened the seminar with the participation of head of the Egyptian Commercial Office Sayed Fouad and representatives of more than 70 French and Egyptian companies specialised in agricultural products.
Fouad reviewed the developments the national economy has witnessed over the past period, especially positive indicators during the Covid 19 pandemic. He also expounded the investment climate and investment privileges in Egypt in addition to the major projects carried out in Egypt.
The French companies reviewed their activities in the agricultural domain and mulled the possibility of enhancing co-operation with Egyptian companies within the coming period and increasing Egyptian agricultural exports to the French market.
Thanks to the Egyptian Commercial Office’s efforts, Egyptian exports to France increased by 30 per cent to hit 516 million euros in 2021 against 400 million euros in 2020.
