The Egyptian Armed Forces have announced the opening of applications for a new intake of Master’s and PhD holders to join the Armed Forces Medical Services Department, as part of efforts to strengthen its specialised medical workforce.
The announcement was made during a press conference on the October 2026 admissions cycle for the Egyptian Military Academy and military colleges, attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and a number of senior military commanders and officials.
Applications are limited to graduates of Faculties of Medicine and Surgery who hold a Master’s or PhD degree in Psychiatry.
Applicants must have obtained a minimum grade of “Good” in their bachelor’s degree.
The maximum age on 1 November 2026 is 30 years for Master’s degree holders and 34 years for PhD holders.
Successful applicants will undertake a one-year academic programme, after which they will be awarded a Certificate of Completion of Military Studies upon successfully completing the required training.
