Minister of State for Military Production Major General Salah Suleiman Gomblat witnessed on Wednesday the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Egypt’s Heliopolis Chemical Industries and Helwan Engineering Industries, and Türkiye’s Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE). The agreement was signed during the First Balkan Shield Defence Industry Expo and Summit 2026 in Sarajevo, attended by Türkiye’s Deputy Defence Minister.
Gomblat said the MoU reflects President El‑Sisi’s directives to build strategic partnerships and expand international cooperation. He noted the importance of industrial collaboration between Egyptian and Turkish companies, given their advanced capabilities in defence manufacturing.
The Deputy Defence Minister praised Egypt’s progress in defence industries and stressed Türkiye’s keenness to strengthen bilateral cooperation. MKE representatives expressed their satisfaction with the partnership, highlighting Egypt’s technological and manufacturing strengths.
