CAIRO – An official high-level delegation of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism, an affiliate of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities will take part in the 45th session of Hungexpo that started at the Hungarian capital, Budapest.
Deputy Minister of Tourism and Antiques Ghada Shalabi is leading the Egyptian delegation to the event that will last until March 6.
Egypt is participating in the gathering with a pavilion that has been shaped in a pharaonic design on an area of 150 m².
In statements, head of the Central Department of Tourism Offices at the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Maged Abou Sidira said the tourism ministry’s participation in the event aimed at promoting Egyptian tourism in the Hungarian market and luring Hungarian tourists to visit landmark tourist attractions in Egypt.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports is also partaking in the Egyptian pavilion to promote for environment and sport tourism in cooperation with the ministry of tourism.
Hungexpo is one of the largest exhibition and event venues in Hungary.
A round table will be organized during the event to promote for environment and sustainable tourism in Egypt, along with workshops on types of tourism in Egypt, said the official.
Being an honorary guest, the Egyptian pavilion will display various activities to visitors, including musical and artistic shows. Visitors will be given awards and an Egyptian night will be organized on the sidelines of the event, he added.
