Egypt moves to strengthen social protection through ministerial-human rights talks

Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy met on Wednesday with Head of the National Council for Human Rights Ahmed Ehab Gamal El-Din. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation between the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the NCHR, as well as exploring ways to further develop  social protection programmes.

Blended finance Key to reducing investment risks in Africa: Kouchouk 

Egypt’s Minister of Finance, Ahmed Kouchouk, affirmed that strengthening domestic revenues and expanding blended finance mechanisms are essential to reducing investment risks across Africa.

Egypt FM meets  US Congressional leaders to boost strategic and economic ties

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel-Aati  held talks  on Tuesday with senior US congressional leaders during his visit to Washington, including Senator James Risch, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Representative Steve Scalise, House Majority Leader.

Abdel-Aati underscored the special nature of Egyptian-American relations, which span more than four decades, highlighting Egypt’s role in supporting security and stability in the Middle East. He also pointed to the growing momentum in bilateral ties and the shared interest in strengthening economic, trade, and investment cooperation. 

Hopes rise for renewed talks as US military says Iran blockade is in force

Hopes rose for renewed talks between the US and Iran on Wednesday, as the US military said its blockade of Iranian ports was in full effect and Tehran threatened to retaliate by strike targets across the war-weary region.
