The Education Development Fund (EDF), affiliated to Egypt’s Cabinet, has signed a co-operation protocol with Wadhwani Global Foundation to boost youth employability, as well as aligning skills with labour market needs.
The partnership aims to prepare graduates and final-year students for high-demand jobs through specialised digital and professional training programmes.
The agreement extends the fund’s strategy of building international partnerships to equip Egyptian youth with technical, digital and professional skills that match global market trends, EDF Secretary-General Rasha Sharaf said.
Success is measured not by certificates alone but by graduates’ ability to integrate into the workforce and add value to the national economy, she added.
The protocol includes the “Train to Hire” programme, being implemented with industrial partners in Egypt and overseas, to provide training tailored to actual recruitment needs and link participants directly to job opportunities.
It also covers training in digital and professional skills, CV writing, interview preparation and career guidance.
The EDF pointed to its Labour Market Observatory as a key tool for analysing future professions and skills in demand regionally and globally, ensuring flexible and updated training programmes.
This co-operation reflects Egypt’s broader strategy to invest in human capital, support innovation and build a competitive knowledge-based economy.
