Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri emphasized the interest that Egypt attaches to achieving peace and stability in Somalia and called on all Somali parties to maintain dialogue in order to work for the holding of free and fair elections at a time agreed upon by the Somalis themselves.
This came during a meeting between FM Shoukri, Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mohamed Abdirizak and Minister of State for Presidency Affairs of the Somali Republic, Hassan Moallem Khalif, as part of their current visit to Cairo.
The meeting dealt with efforts to develop bilateral co-operation between the two countries in various fields, in a manner that achieves their common interests and reflects the historical relations that bring them together.
