The Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir held a meeting on Wednesday with Kazakh Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of Samir’s current visit to Kazakhstan to participate in the 6th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Th two ministers discussed means of making use of economic capabilities and natural resources of the two countries to achieve economic integration.
They also probed aspects of promoting cooperation between the two countries’ private sectors and going into industrial partnership with a view to increasing the volume of trade exchange.
Samir said that Egypt welcomes co-operation with Kazakhstan in the pharmaceutical, mineral and logistical field.
He also voiced the Egyptian government’s desire to cooperate with the Kazakh side to establish a Kazakh industrial zone in Egypt.
Samir invited Uskenbayev to visit Egypt on top of a delegation of businessmen to get acquainted with available investment opportunities in Egypt, especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
Meanwhile, Uskenbayev voiced his country’s keenness to strengthen relations with Egypt, describing it as one of the most important pivotal countries in the Middle East and Africa.
He pointed out that the talks tackled Kazakhstan’s experience in developing private economic zones.
