Director General of the Arab League’s Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) Mohamed Ould Amar has said Egypt has always been pioneer in joint Arab action, noting that ALECSO has a very strong partnership with the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
Ould Amar commended Egypt’s strong engagement in all joint Arab files as a primary partner, noting that it has also organised many key activities and events such as the conference of higher education ministers that was held in 2019 and came up with very important recommendations.
The official reviewed the condition of education and scientific research in the Arab world and ALECSO’s role in lessening the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the education system in some Arab countries.
He asserted that ALECSO makes efforts to recover Arab antiquities from abroad and combat extremist ideology.
The official also talked about the most important details of the organization’s action plan for the period 2023-2028, noting that the first phase of the plan is set to be applied in the period 2023-2024.
