CAIRO – Egypt increased fuel prices by 25 piasters and kept diesel prices steady on Friday, the Ministry of Petroleum said in a statement.
According to the new amendment, the price of octane-80 fuel now stands at LE7.25 per litre while 92-octane fuel stands at LE8.5 per litre and 95-octane fuel is LE9.5 per litre. Diesel was fixed at LE6.75 per litre.
The decision was taken during the December meeting of the Petroleum Products Automatic Pricing Committee which monitors and implements mechanisms for applying automatic pricing of petroleum products.
The committee usually adjusts petroleum product prices in Egypt on a quarterly basis.
