Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati met UNESCO Director-General Khaled El-Enany to discuss strengthening cooperation in education, science and culture, the ministry said.
The talks focused on joint projects to protect cultural heritage, develop education systems through technology, and support youth empowerment and capacity-building programmes.
Abdel-Aati praised UNESCO’s role in preserving cultural and human heritage and improving education amid growing regional and global challenges. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to working closely with the organisation and supporting multilateral efforts to promote dialogue among civilisations and cultures.
The minister also highlighted Egypt’s efforts to preserve archaeological and heritage sites and develop cultural infrastructure, while calling for closer coordination to support Africa’s priorities in education, science and culture.
El-Enany praised Egypt’s role as an active partner in advancing UNESCO’s agenda and expressed the organisation’s readiness to deepen cooperation with Cairo in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, peace and international understanding.
