Egypt Healthcare Authority (EHA) is exploring partnerships with major Turkish healthcare groups as part of efforts to attract international investment and strengthen the country’s position as a regional and international medical tourism hub.
EHA Chairman Ahmed El Sobky visited Esteworld Health Group, a leading Turkish provider of cosmetic surgery and medical tourism services, to discuss cooperation in cosmetic surgery, training, knowledge transfer and medical tourism.
The talks included a proposal to establish an integrated cosmetic surgery and hair transplant center at Sharm El Sheikh International Hospital in South Sinai, in cooperation with Esteworld. The center would mark the group’s first presence in Africa and its second in the Middle East.
El Sobky also visited Acıbadem Healthcare Group, Türkiye’s largest private hospital network, where he discussed potential cooperation in managing and operating the new Dahab International Hospital under a public‑private partnership (PPP) model.
The proposed partnership aims to attract investment, optimise the use of healthcare assets and deliver specialised medical services that meet international standards, particularly in the field of medical tourism.
El Sobky said collaboration with the two Turkish groups would help transfer expertise, attract investment and adopt international best practices, thereby strengthening Egypt’s healthcare sector and supporting the country’s ambition to become a leading destination for specialised healthcare and medical tourism.
He added that the partnerships would also create new opportunities for private‑sector involvement and contribute to improving healthcare services for both Egyptian and international patients.
